Player outlook
Controller leadership takes centre stage this season.
With Breeze reworked and utility timing more important than ever, the Controller role carries added weight. Smokes must be precise. Rotations must be calm. And late-round composure is everything. That responsibility falls to Rhex Ledama (“Monti”, second year, Computer Information Technology, Lethbridge), the longest-serving member of the roster. Now stepping into his first semester as captain, Ledama brings volume, energy and accountability. In tight rounds and tense rivalries, he’s the anchor keeping the Kodiaks steady.
Initiators set the tempo.
Extended utility ranges and refined zoning tools mean information and disruption will define early engagements. Ryan Bohnert (“Fluzzard”, first year, Computer Information Technology, Monarch, Alta.) joined mid–fall 2025 and continues to grow into his role, while Matt Warf (“Mooch”, second year, Business Administration – Accounting, Lethbridge) enters his second year as a stabilizing presence. Together, they dictate when fights begin and when opponents are forced to fall back. In a meta rewarding co-ordination, their timing will be everything.
Duelists bring the fireworks.
With The Bandit adding new pistol-round possibilities and slight shifts in crowd control across the board, early-round aggression becomes sharper and more decisive. Brayden Easthope (“Keothii”, Computer Information Technology, Lethbridge) thrives in that chaos. A full-year veteran with confident entry presence, he has the green light to create space and open rounds. When momentum swings, expect him to be at the centre of it.
Flexibility defines the difference.
Randall Brezina (“Bruhzingas”, Computer Information Technology, Lethbridge) joins as the newest addition, ready to fill whichever role the composition demands. In a season shaped by map adjustments and subtle agent tuning, adaptability is a weapon. Whether anchoring a site, supporting executes or shifting roles mid-series, flexibility may be the x-factor.
Depth strengthens the foundation.
Keagan Fletcher (“KF2918”, first year, Wind Turbine Technician, Magrath) balances dual competition with the League of Legends squad while remaining ready to step in when needed. Reliable substitutes aren’t just backups; they’re insurance policies in long seasons filled with exams and momentum swings.
“The Kodiaks Valorant team is stepping into this season with something to prove,” says head coach Samuel Young. “We’re in a new conference, we’ve got new leadership, and there’s real hunger in this group. The talent is there, now it’s about execution.”
