Kodiaks fall sports open tryouts
As the 2025-26 athletics season is just a few weeks away the Lethbridge Polytechnic Kodiaks are inviting all interested students to come to our open tryouts.

*Must be a full-time student enrolled at Lethbridge Polytechnic to tryout.
Soccer
Kodiaks soccer tryouts will take place Wednesday Sept. 3 at the Lethbridge Polytechnic practice field. We ask that all interested student-athletes email our soccer Head Coach Mike Racz prior to attending for additional information.
Men's Soccer Open Tryouts
Wednesday, Sept. 3 at 5:15-6:45 p.m.
Women's Soccer Open Tryouts
Wednesday, Sept. 3 at 6:45-8:15 p.m.
The Kodiaks soccer teams will open their 2025–26 season on the first weekend of September, with matches set for Sept. 6 and 7 at Lethbridge Polytechnic. The regular season runs through October. The men's team will compete in 10 matches, five at home and five on the road, with the potential to qualify for the playoffs. The women's team will play 12 matches, six at home and six on the road, and also has a shot at championship contention.
Cross-Country
Kodiaks Cross-Country tryouts will be held on Tuesday, Sept. 2. Participants should meet at the PE front desk. We ask that all interested student-athletes email Head Coach Simon Schaerz for additional information prior to attending.
Cross-Country Open Tryouts
Tuesday, Sept. 2 at 5 p.m.
Cross-country's first meet of the season is scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 6, at Concordia University of Edmonton. The season runs through October and includes four meets, with one hosted by Lethbridge Polytechnic on Sept. 20. There is a possibility that the season may extend to compete in Nationals, scheduled for Nov. 7-8 in PEI.
Esports
Kodiaks Esports team will be holding tryouts from Sept. 8-12 in the Esports Lab located in AN1530. Students are encouraged to bring their own headsets, keyboards, mice or wired controllers, but basic equipment will be available if needed. We ask all interested student-athletes to join the Discord, navigate to their selected game channel, and post a message stating that they will be attending along with their current rank.
League of Legends Open Tryouts
Monday, Sept. 8 and Friday, Sept. 12 at 5-8 p.m.
Rocket League Open Tryouts
Tuesday, Sept. 9 at 5-8 p.m.
Valorant Open Tryouts
Wednesday, Sept. 10 and Thursday, Sept. 11 at 5-8 p.m.
The Esports Fall League runs from late September to early December, while the Winter Esports League begins in February and continues through April. Both seasons may include playoffs. Rocket League regular season games will take place on Tuesdays, Valorant games will be on Thursdays, and League of Legends games will be played on Fridays.
