Schaerz named Steel & Vines Kodiaks Coach of the Month for January!

Steel & Vines is proud to sponsor the inaugural Kodiaks Coach of the Month award. Congrats to Simon Schaerz on his January selection.

The Kodiaks Coach of the Month Award recognizes a coach who makes a positive impact on their team and the Kodiaks program. This award honors coaches who demonstrate leadership, dedication, and excellence in any aspect of coaching, whether through athletic success, academic support, character building, or community involvement.

Schaerz is the head coach of both the Kodiaks men's and women's indoor track and cross-country teams. Starting the month of January the women's cross-country and indoor track teams led the Kodiaks academically with the highest team GPA of a 3.65. This was closely followed by the men's cross-country and indoor track at 3.15.

On the track this month Schaerz led his women's track team to a first-place finish and the men's team a second-place finish at their first indoor track meet of the season, with many runners having personal best finishes.
