Women's Soccer season comes to an end
The Kodiak Women’s team closed out their regular season with a hard fought 1-1 tie with South division leading Medicine Hat Rattlers Saturday afternoon. Mattie Kanyo staked the home squad to a 1-0 lead but the Rattlers tied it up with just under four minutes to go. The Kodiaks were the only team to beat and tie the first place Rattlers. The Kodiaks could only sit and wait helplessly for Sunday game results and hope for Lakeland to beat SAIT to give them a play-off berth. It was not to be as the Trojans came away with a 2-0 victory and eliminated the Kodiaks from post season play. Congratulations to coach Mike Racz and his staff on an exciting season. It was a great year for Kodiak soccer as both teams competed hard for a play-off spot and the team averaged an attendance of 210 fans per game, more the double the attendance of past seasons when the Kodiaks averaged less than 100 per game. Thank you fans!
