Women's Basketball win back to back with MHC
The Women’s Basketball team pushed their season record to 15-3 with two wins over Medicine Hat College 76-47 Friday in the Hat, and 75-48 Saturday back in Val Matteotti Gymnasium. Friday the Rattlers got off to a fast start and led 13-11 after the first quarter. But the Kodiaks came out in the second quarter scoring 26 and led 37-29 at halftime. They outscored the Rattlers 39-18 in the second half as Deanna Dotts and Emma Lowry led the team with 15 points apiece. Eleven players scored for Lethbridge in a very well balanced attack. Saturday back home the hosts had a much stronger start leading 18-11 after one and 39-19 at the half on a Karli Brakes three pointer on the buzzer at halftime. The Rattlers had a stronger third quarter but could not keep pace with the Kodiaks as they substituted freely in the second half and cruised to the 27 point win behind the 20 point performance of Emma Lowry. All 12 Kodiaks hit the scoresheet Saturday, and for the eleventh time this season the defense held the opposition below 50 points. Red Deer is in town this week-end with games at 6:00 PM Friday and 1:00 PM Saturday to close out the regular season.
