Women's Basketball Net 2 wins from Exhibition Play over the weekend
The Women’s Basketball was back in action losing Thursday to NAIT 50-43 before beating SAIT 75-36 Friday and Medicine Hat 61-50 Saturday. In the opening game the Kodiaks spotted NAIT a 14-2 lead and came back to narrow the score to 47-44 before NAIT hit a three pointer at the buzzer to make it a seven point game. Friday was a much different result as Lethbridge came out hard against the Trojans and were up 40-16 at half time. With 6 minutes to go, and up 44 points the team pulled back the pressure and coasted to the final score. Saturday, lead by Emma Lowry’s 20 points the Kodiaks jumped to an 18-6 lead only to see it disappear in a flurry of turn overs and miscues in a 20 second span and the Rattlers closed the gap to 18-14. The rest of the game was a see saw affair that saw neither team dominate as Lethbridge ended the week-end with a 2-1 record. Their next games are October 10-12 at SAIT where they will play NAIT and SAIT again before closing out the week-end against Keyano on Saturday.
