Women's Basketball defeat RDC in last weekend of regular season games

The Kodiak Women’s Basketball team stretched their winning streak to 8 games with a two game sweep of Red Deer College last week-end.  Friday the home team started out strong and were ahead 39-14 at halftime.  At the buzzer it was a 74-31 final score for Lethbridge with Elizabeth Lowry leading all scorers with 18 points while Karli Brakes had 10.  Saturday was a different story as Red Deer was fighting for their play-off lives and at half time the score was 56-42 in a shootout.  It was the most points given up by Lethbridge in a first half all season.  The final score was 90-78 and the Kodiaks ended the regular season 17-3, good for 4th place.  Deanna Dotts and Emma Lowry ended the season one and two in South Divisions coring and finished the day with 18 and 17 points.  Katheryne Lowry put in 11 points while Lily Moradel and Sidney Carlson each had 10 points.  Karli Brakes finished with 8 points to go along with her team leading 8 assists.
                The team now enjoys a week-end off before opening the play-offs in Olds February 28th verses Grande Prairie (12-9).  The Kodiaks defeated Grande Prairie in December 56-43 in Grande Prairie in their only meeting of the season.
