Women win both games on the road to tie for first in the division
The Women’s team followed their Friday win in Concordia74-38 with a 56-43 win in Grande Prairie Saturday night to push their record to 8 wins and 1 loss at the Christmas break. Deanna Dotts and Sidney Carlson were top scorers for the Kodiaks with 17 points while Emma Lowry had 12 points and 10 rebounds. Grande Prairie was a big win for the team as they faced the North Division leading scorer Kelly O’Hallahan ( 19 points per game) and a tough Wolves team at home. Emma Lowry and Deanna Dotts both had double double stats as Lowry scored 24 points and 11 rebounds, and Dotts was 10 points and 12 rebounds. It was defense that put it away as they held O’Hallahan to 9 points (2 in the first half). It was their 5th time in 9 games to hold the opposition to under 50 points. As of today the Kodiaks are tied for first place with Augustana.
