Men’s Volleyball Signs Three International Athletes

Andre Lacerda – 6’3” Rio De Janeiro, Brazil – Training with the Minas Tenis Clube, Andre has had more opportunity for high volume, high level contacts than most Canadian athletes have the option attaining.  An outstanding first contact, and a heavy arm while attacking, Andre is sure to become a frequently heard name around campus.  Winning multiple High School State and National Championships, Andre is no stranger to success.  He plans to study the Computer Information Technology program at the college.

Rune Froestad Fasteland – 6’8” Oystese, Norway – Having won the European Championships as a starting player with Norway’s Junior National Team last summer, Rune brings experience and a physical presence that will instantly make him an ACAC standout.

Kai Hesthammer – 6’4” Oystese, Norway – A current teammate of Rune, Kai has played many positions for his club team.  The Kodiaks will look to Kai to provide some stability in the opposite position.  Kai was selected top right-side player for 5 national championships in Norway.  He plans to study Exercise Science.

“I am very excited to have all three of these players continue the trend of excellence in the Kodiak program.  I feel that all three of them are capable of making an immediate impact both on the court, and with positive contributions to the community.” – Head Coach Ian Bennett.
