Kodiaks Weekend Update Jan. 12 
  
Women’s Basketball 
Our women's basketball team remains undefeated as they collect a pair of wins against Red Deer this past weekend. Friday night, Emma Lowry sunk 24 points and got 5 rebounds. Ali Cameron also chipped in with 17 points on the game. During Saturday nights game, Deanna Dotts made her presence known with 11 rebounds and 15 points, while Emma Lowry scored 17 points. Our Kodiaks women's basketball team is currently ranked third in all of Canada. 
  
Men’s Basketball 
Friday night, the men's basketball team fought diligently against the Red Deer Kings, but lost 85-77 in a very tight game. Travis Butt lit up the court with 25 points, while Chaz Johnson passed for 12 assists. On Saturday our Kodiaks got their revenge as they beat the Kings 83-69. Chaz Johnson got 11 assists, this time also putting up 21 points. Chris Maughan and Travis Butt scored 19 and 17 points, respectively. Our Kodiaks men's basketball team is currently ranked fifth in Canada. 
  
Women’s Volleyball 
Our women's volleyball team gave it their all as they took on the number one ranked team in the country. Friday night, they put up good fight but lost to the Red Deer Queens 0-3. Lindsay Glas had 8 kills, while Isabelle Huel dug 15 hits from the opposing team. On Saturday they came up short, losing 0-3 to the Queens. 
 
Men’s Volleyball 
It was a tight matchup this weekend as our Kodiaks men's volleyball team battled against the Red Deer Kings. On Friday night, our Kodiaks prevailed as they defeated the Red Deer Kings 3-0. Håkon Østrem had 12 kills, 5 digs, and 4 services aces. Kai Hesthammer and Dax Whitehead both had 8 kills as well. On Saturday our men fought hard again but ran out of steam as they lost 0-3 to the Kings. Whitehead had 7 kills and 7 digs on the match.
