It was a hard fought weekend that came up just short for the women Kodiaks as they played a home and home against the ACAC leading Mount Royal Cougars.

Saturday night saw the Kodiaks lose 3-1 grabbing a thrilling win in the third set. The Cougars jumped out to a quick start winning the first two sets 25-12 and 25-17.

In the third set the Kodiaks turned up the pressure and took a back and forth 27-25 win before falling in the fourth set 25-13.

Friday night’s games were tightly contested but saw the Kodiak fall in three straight sets. The Kodiaks brought forth a sold effort in the match falling 25-20, 25-20 and 25-18.

The Kodiaks will get a chance to quickly bounce back this weekend in a best of three series against SAIT.

The women finished with a record of 9-11 and earned a qualifier spot in the ACAC’s South Division to try and win their way into a playoff birth.
