Five Kodiaks basketball players named ACAC all-stars
Three members of the nationally top-ranked Kodiaks women’s basketball have been recognized as ACAC south division all-stars. Emma Lowry, who tied for third in ACAC scoring with 17.1 points per game, and Sunder West, who led the division with 5.6 rebounds per game, were named first team all-stars. Logan Moncks, who tied Lowry for the team lead in points per game, was named to the second team.
On the men’s side, Chaz Johnson was named to the first team after finishing fourth in points per game (20.1) and second in both assists and steals per game in the south division this season. Colten Murray earned a second team all-star berth after scoring 18.3 points per game, placing seventh in the division.
Both Kodiaks teams open the ACAC provincial championships today. The men play a quarterfinal against Keyano College in Olds. The women take on the University of Alberta – Augustana in Vermilion. Both games are at 3 p.m. and will be streamed online.
