The Cross Country and Indoor Track Coaching staff is extremely excited about the level of athletic ability that will be displayed next year. In addition to a high caliber field of returning athletes, these new recruits are expected to make an immediate impact to the Kodiaks.
Emily Lucas, a distance runner from Innisfail, Alberta competed in the ASAA High School Cross Country Provincials last fall finishing in 2nd position. Lucas will also be competing in ASAA Outdoor Track & Field this spring. Lucas will be working towards her Bachelor of Nursing degree.
Dina Iatrou, from Red Deer, Alberta is also planning to enroll in the Bachelor of Nursing program. Iatrou, a former swimmer has recently come to the sport of running and has found immediate success. She placed 5th at ASAA High School Provincials and is looking to represent Hunting Hills High School equally well during the upcoming Outdoor Track & Field season.
Last, but certainly not least, Shaelyn Moltzahn will look to add further depth to the team. The grade 12 student from Lindsay Thurbar High School in Red Deer, Alberta will join Lucas and Iatrou in the Bachelor of Nursing program. Moltzahn is a true athlete in the sense that she has enjoyed lots of success in sports other than Cross Country and Track and Field.
