Back to Back wins for Women's basketball

The Women’s Basketball improved their ACAC record to 11-3 with two identical 79-22 wins over St. Mary’s Lightning.  The Kodiaks were up at half time Friday 34-5 and cruised to the win.  Lily Moradel had her strongest outing of the season.  The Immanual Christian grad collected 16 points and 9 rebounds and was a dominant factor from start to finish.  Deanna Dotts collected 15 points to add to her South Division scoring lead.  Emma Lowry had 14 points and 10 rebounds, and Sidney Carlson contributed another 10 points for the victors.  Saturday was no better for the Lightning as they visited Lethbridge and again came out on the wrong side of a 79-22 score.  Half time saw the hosts up 36-11 after forcing 28 turn overs by St. Mary’s in the first 20 minutes.  Elizabeth Lowry garnered player of the game honors with a 15 point outing to lead all scorers.  Emma Lowry scored 11 points while Sidney Carlson and Katherine Lowry each scored 10.  Karli Brakes and Brooke Taylor both just missed double figures with 9 points apiece as 11 Kodiaks hit the scoresheet.  The team hosts Olds Broncos Friday night at 6:00, and travel to Olds Saturday night this week-end.  Friday night is “Intercultural Evening” with halftime entertainment by the FNMI and Intercultural students.
