Ali Cameron honoured as 2014-15 ACAC Women's Basketball Player of the Year
Edmonton, March 5, 2015 – The Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference is pleased to announce that Ali Cameron, of the Lethbridge College Kodiaks Women’s basketball team, has been selected as the 2014-15 ACAC Player of the Year.
Cameron, in her senior season, is enrolled in the General Studies program and hails from Carstairs, Alberta. Cameron transferred to the Kodiaks and made an impact that will be tough to be surpassed for a long time. Cameron is 1st in the ACAC South scoring at 22.42 points per game and 2nd in steals per game at 3.58. Putting these numbers up while missing 4 games due to injury this season.
Coach Karren says about Cameron’s impact on the program, “She is one of our team captains and her work ethic is what means the most when it came to leading the way everyday throughout the season. She truly talked the talk & walked the walk!“
“Ali has battled some nagging injuries throughout her senior season but has shown the maturity, composure and leadership of a 5th year student athlete that is unmatched. It will be a large hole to fill after this season in Ali’s spot but she has represented the Kodiaks in a way that she will definitely be missed,” says Todd Caughlin, Manager of Kodiaks Athletics.
Congratulations Ali on an amazing senior season and recognition.
